wedding vibes, hometown feels & accidental LOLs 💃✨

Okay sooo... right after I hit publish on my blog, we bounced straight to the station. Family trip vibes. 🚂
Dad dipped to grab food for us, and meanwhile me, my sis, and grandma made our way to the platform. I was leading the squad like a pro. Mom didn’t come with us—she was pulling up the next day.

Now here's the fun part—me and my sis lowkey ditched for snacks (priorities 🤭). We tried to act chill when we got off the train, pretending we were just with Dad—but she somehow finessed it better than me lol. Snacks secured, and then… boom, the train starts moving, and it’s drizzling. I swear, it was giving cozy movie night.
We had snacks, music, full train aesthetic till like 1 AM. No one slept. We were just vibing. ✨🎧🍿

We reached our hometown around 4 AM. Dead tired. Got out, waited for a bus for what felt like foreverrrr (15 mins actually, but still). No autos, no cabs—just that one bus. Got home finally. Everyone’s houses are in diff spots, so we all split. No one stays in our grandparents’ house anymore, so yeah… dusty af. Only gets opened a couple times a year.

Freshened up, stepped outside, and omg—the peacock sounds?? Healing. Fr. 👂🦚
Went for a chill walk to our friend's house ‘cause we were supposed to pick up our bike. Instead… ended up sipping coffee there (classic detour).

And then—THE INCIDENT.
This uncle was literally snoring so loud, I thought a dog was barking. 💀
So I casually ask this aunty there, “Hey, is there a dog around?”
Turns out it was her husband. 😶
She just laughed it off and said, “Nooo, that’s my hubby sleeping,” and I wanted the earth to swallow me whole. She found it hilarious and would keep giggling every time she saw me after that. I was mortified. 😂

Anyways, took the bike, had vada (yum), and got ready for the sangeet. Walked again to the same friend’s house (yes, I got lost on the way but recovered 💪), had breakfast, and off we went to the groom’s place.

Suddenly—boom. Plot twist.
My friend throws me into a dance group for the bride’s entry. First time in my life dancing like that—had like 5 minutes of practice max. Somehow we didn’t flop. 😅 Everyone kept saying my dress was simple but cute and u too looking cute nu, and ngl, that MADE my day. 😌💃

There was DJ, games, and even the MJ (emcee) was like, “Are you mad at me?” (I was just zoned out lmao).
Also found out her name’s also Abirami. Iconic.

We had lunch, then me and sis bounced home. Dad didn’t come to the sangeet ‘cause he was helping out the bride’s fam—he’s tight with her dad. Grandma left for another wedding (yes, social calendar booked).

Back home = nap time. Finally. 😴
Then in the evening, we pulled up to the bride’s place again. Coffee, snacks, the works. Dad and sis left to check our plot and left me with the bride. I ended up walking half the way to catch up with them 😮‍💨 so much walking that day.

We also visited my dad’s aunts and had this super wholesome convo about the old days—how they used to have 10+ cousins crashing at the grandparents’ place for the holidays. Childhood stories, nostalgia, vibes. 🥹

Then we hit this small shop for dinner—bussin food.
Came back to the mandapam for a mini photoshoot (ofc 📸), and then dad + his friends were deep in a throwback spiral about their childhood. It was so cute. Like… his friend’s been living in the native town forever, while Dad grew up in Chennai, so every holiday used to be a massive fam reunion with cricket, chaos, and so much fun.

One of their stories made me lowkey jealous—they talked about how the old house was palace-level huge. But it’s gone now 'cause no one maintained it. Sigh.

Anyway, dad ended up eating again just to keep his friends company 😂. We stayed till like 1 AM, came back home, rewatched our sangeet vids, and passed out.
What. A. Day. 🫶
